The General Pickett Letters 3
Baillie!
The men in the photos escorting my now deceased mother-in-law : one
is a cousin to me and the other a brother-in-law.
George died of what was referred to as a coming down with the chills.
It must have been an influenza or our shared problem of excessive gas.
A few pints of stout and I am a one man musician.
He was like me loyal to the boys. I stood my ground for my pressman and
labourers at The Leader-Herald newspaper when I was employed as a
Commercial Printing Manager and locked horns many a time with the
publisher trying to get people promoted and raises in pay. I always
felt your company is only as good as your men or employees. Its your
greatest asset!
Screw the help and you'll fail, because the loyalty to a good
manager or commander is only complimentary to his ability to reflect
the same to his troops.
I will burn you a CD or two with newer 1860's music and send them out.
Strange you mentioned Bobby Horton, as I am going to call him tonight.
I want to carry his CD's in my store.
Here is the old man in front of his store on the Grand Opening day 18
June 2005. I did not wear my sash that day. Also the sun was out early
on and in my eyes. The photographer made me crack a smile. I usually
look at a camera with that dead eye glare!
George
Good boots George!
Love the boots......... gotta have good boots!
Baillie was bare foot in the Atlanta campaign for some two weeks or more
family desperately trying to get him some new boots so the letters say
that is probably where my thing about boots comes from
my ones from the start of the war had probably just fallen apart about
then May June 1864
and there were no dead Yankees to oblige! Yet plenty once Sherman
started his march to the sea
I know I had a Federal light blue overcoat that winter may be from the
previous up at Green pond SC
here's the painting
[ An attachment, image/jpeg: BaillieChristmas186350%.jpg : actual size 287k : encoded size 382k, was included here ]
I can see why the boys loved you - that's Southern leadership with a
capital S
gotta lead from the front and respect the men - then they respect and
follow you
they will march into the gates of hell - no questions - as you did!
total love and respect for each other and the cause
I wonder what the Yankees around Amsterdam make of your store
must confuse the hell out of them!!!!!!!!! as they thought they had won
and now here you are occupying their territory!!!!!!!
flag and all
how cool is that!!!! ??? :) ;)
as for the music you can see the synchronicity kicking in - I mentioned
Bobby and you had planned to call him!!!!!!!!!!!!
that's how it works
there ain't no accidence in this universal game
so yes please some music would be mighty fine and if the General would
do me the honour of signing the covers I shall treasure them CD's to the
day I die!
as I signed my books with my Civil war name so I would be most humbly
pleased if you could sign them with your George signature and the date
gives me a buzz when I sign my old signature and then put the present
day
reinforces the fact that I've beaten the system - makes my chuckle!
since discovering the Photo of Baillie in 1999 - I've had a permanent
grin on my face ever since and it shows no signs of going away!
guess you do too now........ great thing is that there are plenty of
photos and info about George
so you ain't got to dig too hard
most folks that I help know stuff but desperately want that evidence -
that tangible proof
I'm lucky and so are you are is Jeff and Dianne Seaman that we were in
some measure "famous" or grand enough to have a photo taken
with me like everything else I do have done - I paid for it
myself!!!!!!! as a present for Sallie
Did the same thing with the Schuttersmaaltijd portrait in the
Rijksmuseum
cost half a years Salary!!!!!!!!!!! to have a full length portrait
painted with the boys
again it was the Shooting club the Boys were the other members St Joris
Doelen The St George's Long bow shooting Club of Amsterdam
thank goodness I did that - my own message in time to myself
Here's me 1991
[ An attachment, image/jpeg: Baillie1645D.jpg : actual size 27k : encoded size 36k, was included here ]
Here's William Baillie 1638 coincidentally about the same age

Just put the two together in power point side by side!
well better skiddadle and get on with some school work we have the
school ball Saturday night - chance to wear me kilt!
we break up Wed July 6th for Summer hols........
will be writing the new book in the porch when the weather is not good
for sailing
I also think you are getting much more George in your e-mails
it is working George is coming to the surface and speaking the tone and
language is pure him so we are making progress
I'll find my Gettysburg war game pics Erik will love to see them
and it will stimulate so more memories!
Folks were always amazed when they came into the Chemistry lab and saw
the display in action with cannons going off and the Gettysburg movie
running full blast on the video - love that music they did it proud
bet you liked Stephen Lang he captured George's spirit if not the direct
look!
Did you like that??????????
Love the cannons going off and the camera panning really gave an insight
into ol' E Porter Alexander's efforts
Did I tell you that he was President of The Central of Georgia Railroad
after the war........... he was my boss!!!!!!!!! think I met him once
or twice and chin wagged about his efforts - I was always a cannon fan!
I was a civil engineer and survey for the C of G RR until 1888 when I
was 60 and retired! well forced to
didn't want to had to live on hand out until I got a pension in 1900
tough times that bit -
ian :)

Hey Baillie!
LaSalle described him a having kind and small hands, which I do
have, small feet, size 9-1/2 and 10 boot. I f we had his uniform it
most likely would fit me perfectly. I just know it. I am (was ) before
three disks went bad in my lower back 5 feet 9 inches. Now I am around
5ft. 8".
I weighed 195 lbs. last year. Working nights all last year getting
these two stores up and running I lost 35 to 40 lbs. I do feel too
skinny right now! My face was fuller and I had a beer belly too!
Cuffs, huh! My sutler made mine a little short and I was furious. I
like them longer. See see only Pickett would know what the coat should
feel like on his arms! And how do you do the calculations and base it
on George's measurements. Do you know where I could find them?
I sucked in math. I hated school. Almost as bad as George did! I ain't
no rocket scientist by no means. Talk & write. Wait till you see my
walk with the bowed legs. I 've been told that I walk with a swagger,
cocksure and on a mission. Always fast. Then there is the pacing when I
have to wait. Leather heels clapping on the wood-floors and hands
behind my back pacing back and forth. And the voice...it can get loud!
Some people ask me if I am from Virginia by the way I say bonnie and
blue. And a few other words of choice!
I'll have several in memory of my boys and probably tear up again.
You should have seen the two of us last year when Erik & I had to
depart Gettysburg after the SCV rally in September. Tears streaming
down his face and me all choked up and could not speak or hardly see
the damn road ahead! I still get that feeling when I think of it!
Tomorrow ! Good Night Sir!`
Hey Baillie!

Excellent George - you're opening the gates - let it come - be brave
remember it can't hurt you - you are grounded in this life
try to record the dreams before you forget
pencil and pad by the bed is a good idea
definitely making progress - knew you would!
Re Phil - well he can't see a barn door at 20 paces - to rooted in the
here and now - not a bad thing
but it is challenging his belief systems as I knew it would and he has
the lid shut tight
but I will preserve
I can see the likeness but he can't as above
the clincher would be if Webb was wounded in the knee
also I will do a timeline check for coincidences between his life and
Webb's
the pictures from 1981 equivalent to 1861 for Webb do not show a useful
profile
but he was mighty pumped up that year as we went to Italy for a Summer
holiday so much so I called him "Action man" on all the photos of him
the surge of energy across time would account for this
I have experienced the same 1645 for me was 1999 and that was when
Baillie was at the height of his General's powers as a Lt General
chasing Montrose the burst of energy coincided with the finding of
Baillie Kell's portrait and led to the undoing of my subconscious mind
through sheer force of will with Rosie and the emotional paintings
the strain was too much for my physical body 6 months extreme remote
viewing using my conscious will to prise open my mind!
shouldn't do that too much - I was living double speed
and the adrenaline stress caused my kidneys to collapse to 50%
functioning with water retention
was drinking 8 to 10 pints of water a night to avoid dehydration
as it just went straight through
was scary - but I knew I could consciously heal myself - Doc said - had
I been marching around in the desert! You're totally dehydrated!!!!!
blood readings were off the scale as was blood pressure
but I had cracked the matrix as you will read
nearly killed me but I did it
now it just flows out
I can access all areas of my subconscious at will
also I was becoming more Baillie Kell than Baillie me here and now
and more and I would have passed over I think
stood on the brink of the abyss and looked in
way cool!!!!!!!!!!!! but don't recommend it too often
like Close Encounters of the Third Kind
the obsession can have a devastating effect on those who love you and
look on
you must remember to love them and protect them
for they love you more than anything
that's what it is all about in the end
muskets and cannons and horses are boys toys
so keep one foot on the ground in their love
keep grounded George
just let it flow and keep control of you health
remember your coming up for the passing over synchronicity with George
it's bound to have a knock on effect on your physical being but you can
control it and limit the effects using your conscious here and now mind
remeber as you said - we are not supposed to be doing this!
But we are going to do it anyway!
we are consciousness explorers just make sure you got a good rope to
haul you back out - Rosie was mine
psychonauts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I suppose you could call use
and you can interpret that any way you like!!!!!! :) hee hee ;)
Baillie :) Been there done that got the tee shirt and still living to
prove it!
got my renal check up July 12th but I have gone up another gear almost
normal again
I actually told the Doc what I had been up to the year after he was
amazed !!!!!!!! but didn't dismiss it said it could well have been
they had no answers as to why it went wrong and then the miraculous
recovery 6 months after my blood was 140 over 75
as I left to see Norman in 2001
too much stress is what kills you
Baillie :)
cavalry's job to scout ahead - shame JEB forgot that!
Baillie!

Hey Baillie.
I made it through. We shot off some small rockets and cursed the
yanks Put a few 58 caliber shots through the head of Sherman and that
fat bastard Butler. Let off a lot of pent up anger and drank afterwards
and enjoyed the rest of the evening.
Erik & I were on our way back to camp and I got a chill and the hair on
the back of my nec k was standing at attention and goosebumps down my
arms, then I looked at the digital clock in my Explorer..It read 3:00
PM 7/3/05.
Enough said. Talk more later.
George
Baillie,
Well Sir! Did the Post Man deliver what is intended for you to
cherish and possess?
Or did customs enjoy the package 1st? It should have arrived by now!

Excellent therapy! I do the same at the range with my .44 Colt Walker

George
Also your package arrived yesterday
thank you soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much - it was far more than
expected
I smiled when I saw that you had tied up the CD's exactly as a new
uniform would have been!!!!!!!!!!!!!! complete with twine!
no body uses twine anymore.............
further evidence if it were needed that you are from a different time
I immediately played the CD's and the tears rolled
first with the emotive fiddle music but then with the tune Our Dixie
forever - always does it down with the Eagle up with the Cross
definitely an anti Roman sentiment which hits the nerve
my last past life is particularly vivid but it is layered on 8 others
one the Capture Celt made to fight in the arena at the Colosseum
the other tune is Rebel Soldier which I find myself singing often
and Wanna have a good time join the cavalry always makes me smile
outstanding job I shall make copies for the car and play them all summer
long
and the most valuable thing the piece of High water mark!
sacred stone
it will go alongside my Georgia red clay and Railroad spikes from
Griffin Station GA
I even dusted my cavalry kepi in Baillie's grave dirt
so it has a faint pink tinge........sacred soil
I got the idea from Al Bean the Lunar Apollo astronaut
who wanting to make his paintings special used bits of his lunar uniform
space suit patches covered in moon dust embedded into his paintings
thus making them at a stroke unique and priceless
well visiting my own grave was my Moon walk!
To the top of the hill, Sir!
Thanking the General most kindly
Baillie :)

Spring chicken! Pauline is Hawaii 5 0 tomorrow
and I'm taking herself, Harriet and Granpa to Leeds Castle near
Maidstone for lunch
Built by Henry the VIII for Anne Bolyne - so he could stay over night
on his way to Dover for a bit of Royal R and R
Lady Baillie restored it in the 30's with her millionaire American
husband (same name!) and left it to a trust for the nation and to keep
it running (tax dodge!)
took Norman from Corpus Christi TX and his son Steve there in 2002 on
their way to our house from the airport (Gatwick London)
every thing had Baillie written on it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! all the labels
everything - I started to chuckle half way around as it was like
Hi Norman he's your brother Baillie and just to prove the point here are
4 million labels with my name on!!!!!!! :)
we also had our school Valentine's Day ball there this year - wore me
kilt so I did - danced the night away! - t'was a good do!
anyways
should be a nice day out
has a wicked portrait of Black Tom Fairfax Commander of the New Model
Army (English Civil War) and also his buff coat
the Roundheads spared it as it was their arsenal during the conflict
unlike many a good Royalist castle Cromwell demolished
so fun for all!
Baillie :)
will let you know how it turns out

Baillie,
The George in me is getting stronger and the urges are incredible. Am
I going through a process I need to know about? Please let me know.
The balcony is bothering me again just like day one.
George or Paul or whoever!
I was going to write tomorrow have finished doing 3 big firework shows
over the weekend - smell of black powder in the nostrils, but this is
important
Don't worry or panic - very unlike you I know but this can get scary was
for me - I wanted to be more Baillie Kell than Baillie me and I nearly
didn't come back
these things are synchronous with age - very important fact
major trauma crisis in George's life will echo and reverberate in your
here and now....... trick is to stay in charge
you're coming to the end of George's life so things will be getting
pretty desperate and because you are tune well into your former self you
will feel the effects
remember not to take the feelings to heart you are physical you and
don't let George's ill health effect you
money worries will be a large part of that issue too as you are finding
irrational worries may come into your head most anytime
remember you are sound financially and strong plus have the love of your
family - continue to create the here and now
Don't be afraid to just let go and have a rest - George is always you
and now you have found yourself you won't ever lose it
me I'm Baillie - Ian Baillie now most important I continue to be myself
in the physical now
I observed crossing over thoughts while blowing up things over the
weekend and I was there in 1651 for an instant - know why I like things
like the mortars racks of 5 - the Scots used frame guns very similar we
had 88 of them so lugging them around was a joy as they offered good
protection on the battlefield
cool!!!!!!! also go back before George you have many memories echoes of
patterns sometimes several coincide to make a big one 9 wave or what
ever
Be strong YOU and control yourself - dispassionate observer is as good
as I can explain it
I am no longer totally emotionally involved I have an over view of
myself
but like you I have been wanting to solve my financial problems - by
looking for work moving out living in else where - this is a direct
Baillie memory Railroads 1879 and the Army 1651 before that
very strong - the universe will guide my path - I have faith in the
patterns it has for me
so look at the big picture and take comfort that you are never alone -
I've been through it so has Jeff we all deal with it differently but we
did it
Love you Paul - love Paul yourself too!
stay grounded
I have all the same feelings as you
future worries etc...... part of being Dad!
Baillie :)
Hope that helps????????
Baillie,
The George in me is getting stronger and the urges are incredible. Am
I going through a process I need to know about? Please let me know.
The balcony is bothering me again just like day one.
George or Paul or whoever!

Baillie
Sounds like a plan. Financially sound...heck if I was I would feel a
lot better. We are robbing Peter to pay Paul every month. Mortgage,
lines of credit, credit card bills. My Lord. How we are making it, I do
not know. But we are still here. I had a memory today. I was home for
lunch today and I was checking the time and I thought to pull a chain
from my vest and open my pocket watch. I was amazed. My watch is
locked in a safe and I do not wear vests. Have not in several years.
The urges I have had recently are to put on my uniform and go ride a
horse. Then today my balcony experience when I got triggered hit me
again while driving, I almost lost it. Tears welling up. Almost in
sobs. My God all those boys lost. What a damn waste. That's what been
going on.
George
I do the watch chain trick too! mines in the safe too!
sounds like you are healing yourself with what really rubs you at the
base of it all
like me being a General was a hell va responsibility and even though
George made light of it he took it pretty darn serious
I am in no way surprised that those emotions are playing havoc with you
- in fact I would be surprised if they weren't as this is the true sign
that your case is 100% genuine
I was a mercenary General 1638 - 48 and as such somewhat detached from
my conscript bunch of Yankee equivalent Scottish conscripts!!!!!!!!!!
God d**m their worthless hides - although a hard core of them were
good fighters and hard as nails and like me didn't like to be pushed
around by the English Royalist aristocracy!!!
Now Robert is more emotionally attached to the Boys - he calls them that
I yelled and he was the softer lets get it done part of the team
although my yelling was all theatre!!!!! I loved my army and that is the
flaw.......
you have to sacrifice that which you love
Cromwell had similar feelings for his New Model Army which I later
joined
Now let of the hook of responsibility I had a whale of a time with the
5th Georgia - that was pure emotion and fun too! Buck private no
responsibility just shoot as many darn Yankees as possible!
so I am in no way at least surprised that you are feeling it my old
friend
as George comes to the end of his life (at 50) He is thinking those
thought which are your thoughts and you are feeling his pain
let it flow brother
many a good boys lost a promising and useful life - but BUT
they were there because they wanted to be - no Yankee bunch of
conscripts forced to march across the field as at Fredericksburg
but free born boys proving a point and writing a noble chapter in the
annals of human endeavour
much as Leonidas and the Spartans at Thermoplylea
so weep and move on - just remember no to crash the car!
sometimes I just pull over and let it out look at the beautiful scenery
and remember - then continue with the here and now
"What does it do for a man to conquer the world when in truth and
reality, he has only his memories"
Baillie :)

Baillie,
Well old comrade, the two stores are doing a bit better last few days.
Thank the Lord! I am having a friend come down here Monday & White
Light the joint. Seems as if there is the sword of Damocles and gloom
& doom hanging over our heads. As if we have been evil eyed or cursed.
She is the 1st Psychic I went to after I figured out who I was. Went
to her for an outsiders confirmation. Never met her until that initial
contact. Now we are great friends. She has done her readings here at
the store for my grand opening and was an instant hit. The ladies were
lining up. I am going to propose that she spend a few hours each week
here doing just that. Being the supreme draw she is. And believe me she
is accurate at what she says. Back to work for now!
George
You'll do it George - just keep at it....
now my fire works de brief - AWSOME plus Southern Wedding pics from
September the next door neighbours gal married Joe from North Carolina
son of a Catholic minister that teaches in a seminary
The fire works were brill we let off 1 ton in 15 minutes Saturday for
Roger De Haan £9,500 worth it was awesome
had to lug them to the top of the hill (good defensive position) made it
more memorable especially as I spent yesterday in bed recovering!!!!!!
my "last battle" a fractal reconstruction of the Battle of Worcester
1651 with Nic as Cromwell he is so much like him has even been ill with
a brain tumour for 6 months just as Cromwell was ill in 1651 but back in
the saddle in time for the Worcester campaign
I was looking down from the hill - the equivalent of Red Hill in 1651
watching the attack go in - this time I was with in charge of the 3 and
4 inch mortars - rapid fire and had time to watch the awesome spectacle
below as it lit up the sky
WOW! all day for 15 minutes but the memory will stay a life time or
several......
I've been feeling like I should be leaving Ashford (the New Model Army)
these past few weeks ever since I got my "excellent on all criteria with
no weaknesses" rating on my appraisal
can't do better than that
sure enough I have an interview for a Head of Science post at Wellesley
House tomorrow as 6 pm - Heads name R R Steel (Rail Road Steel!) as
Baillie Kell is on the Railroad and its 1879 - I can read the signs the
universe give now - be interesting to see if I get the job - I just feel
it is right
I would board in the week in Broadstairs to save travelling and get
stuck in.... OK here are some pictures
Southern Wedding Sept 2005
[ An attachment, image/jpeg: Wedding Party Sept 2005 160%.jpg : actual size 159k : encoded size 212k, was included here ]
compare to the Baillie Kell photo on the book cover!
and trooper Baillie ready to let fire 1 ton of fireworks - where's my
revolver!
[ An attachment, image/jpeg: Trooper Baillie impressed 1 ton WOW!.jpg : actual size 198k : encoded size 263k, was included here ]
If the uniform was Rebel grey we would be there!
Note I'm wearing my old German army shirt - I bought it in 1983 for a
Dollar (as my William Baillie German memory was kicking in - the first
one I had sown Dutch flags on!) and wore it lots in Germany 1984 -87
and the General Nic - just like Cromwell
[ An attachment, image/jpeg: The General is Happy 1 ton ready to go.jpg : actual size 184k : encoded size 246k, was included here ]
When we put our fireproof overalls on and helmets with visors on feels
just like you are there team talk then visors down and we are off
BOOOOOOOM!
a fractal re-enactment of a past event exactly synchronous with physical
age
Brilliant - all in next book YYYYYYYYYYYYyyeeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhaaaaaaaahhh

Hey Baillie, Did not know you were a master of pyrotechnics! And who
may I ask, are the two lovely ladies with you at the church?
George!
Grand master please! :) :) ;)
If it has gunpowder in it I'm there!
same in the 5th Georgia big old colt revolvers - yeah!!!!!!!!!
way to go
Well my dear Sir that is my daughter Harriet and my wife Pauline!
ain't I the lucky one........ zilch last time got the whole poker hand
this
my life has revolved around them two fillies - these past 32 years
Harriet was born the year Sallie left my life in 1862 = 1988 this time
around
and Harriet is the baby that Miss Sallie lost in 1867 the night she was
born - Pauline only ever wanted to have a baby - and it happened! To
correct the records last time around
I think Harriet was Sallie and Pauline was the baby - there is a role
reversal going on as they have their own karma to sort out too!
Pauline loves the heat - Florida etc........ can't stand cold - Harriet
is the snow and ice queen! weird huh!?
Harriet also recently wants to learn Dutch!!!!!!!!! all of a sudden -
so there could be a connection back to that one too.......
also Norway Vikings etc....... strong connection to polar bears
certainly as you know only too well - Love is the glue that binds the
universe together!!!
Harriet is definitely the older more assured soul
what an amazing GD universe - the Great architect be praised!
I've got an interview for a new job as Head of Science at Wellesley
House at 6 tonight - boarding school they want someone who can enthuse
the children over science!!!!!!
with me they get the whole package - value for money!
and the sign post from the universe is this the Headmasters name
is R R Steel (Rail Road Steel!) Baillie Kell is working on the Rail
Road in Georgia and it's 1879!
that and my excellent on all criteria with no weaknesses appraisal
evaluation last month from my present Head has boosted my confidence and
set this game plan into motion
we'll see what cards the universe deals me tonight!
certainly I'm on a roll at the moment!
still seeing stars and lights from Saturday's spectacular..........yeah!
!!!!!!
Baillie :)

Now this here is trooper Kev - he's a genuine hillbilly Johnnie Reb if
ever I saw one - loves doing the mortars!!!!!!!! bigger the better -
lives down on the marsh at Dungerness - back woodmarsh country -
smugglers pirates etc......
has been 10 times all over the South and up the East coast
Tennessee Lookout mountain mentioned specifically
he ain' t real politically correct either got a thing about them dark
folk - way he talks is 140 years ago
we get on real well two old rebs chewing the fat and lettin' off
fireworks!!!!!!!! yeah
General Nic looks like a guy in the Rockbridge Artillery especially when
I first knew him 20 odd years ago same moustache and love of guns and
gunpowder
makes a real good Officer - leads from the front - fierce when things
ain't up to muster yet always polite when giving a direct order
His precision in lining up the ordinance on Saturday was meticulous very
much as an artillery man would do
my guess is that Kev and Nic go back to the Army of East Tennessee and
the campaigns there on
I did show Nic the photo a few years back - and he laughed but didn't
bite - this was when he was just setting up the fireworks shop behind
the gun shop
He is a real business savvy guy and a real workaholic - no time too read
etc...... just does stuff usually involving guns he is a crack shot and
a genuine good ol' boy.......... Dukes of Hazard style
he made me laugh years ago as he said he "was only interested in guns
and money!"
he says things like that as he is not politically correct too!
That's why we all get on we're all old Johnnies!
Kev and Nic have been friends since school days - always abusing each
other with vulgar banter - the more cussing the better!
I'll dg the photo out - yep ARTILLERY! that explains them!!!!!!!!
the bigger the caliber the better 10inch was the biggest we had
Saturday!!!! - explains it all the shells etc........ the magazines full
of shells on the farm all that stuff!
Baillie :)
Hey Baillie, Did not know you were a master of pyrotechnics! And who
may I ask, are the two lovely ladies with you at the church?
George!

Ian Baillie
Arrival - Nic in red with the radiation Batman scar on the back of his
head and his new van - a real tart! Love the lettering!
we had 3 such full of all the ordinance 1 ton!
you can see from Nics build that he is well built strength wise likeme
it probably goes back to the middle ages
my physique was developed drawing the long bow for a life time nic looks
just like a knight - you could see him swinging an axe or sword or some
pole weapon
Baillie :)
Hey Baillie, Did not know you were a master of pyrotechnics! And who
may I ask, are the two lovely ladies with you at the church?
George!
[ A MIME image / jpeg part was included here. ]
--
Ian Baillie
Kev's pony tail Guy was a Royal Marine Bandsman for 3 years when a young
lad very smart - very hard grafting under pressure - gets the job done
great chap.......his partner has memories of being a red Indian squaw
another coincidence not?
Baillie :)

Ian Baillie
George you old reprobate - it is them!!!!!!!!!!!
Kev gave me the vital clues last Saturday when doing the fireworks
10 trips to the South - all over but mentioned Tennessee 3 times and
Lookout mountain twice
white helmet just like the white hat in the picture
Southern with a capital S in laid back style - Officer quality despite
this life's poker hand
also the dynamic between them buddies since the first grade
Nic is the Sgt barking orders very precise Kev the Officer laid back but
intense at getting the job done - careful - real careful with the shells
biggest were 10 inch!
yep case solved - am getting photos of when they had moustaches
Nic's was so much like in the picture
all Johnnies together!!!!!!!!! yeah! Hell'va outfit too
Rutledge's Battery 1st Tennessee Light artillery changed name to
Mclung's in 1862 when they amalgamated went through the whole shooting
match Taken at Nashville July 4 1861
Nic is 3 the Sgt! same even with no moustache and a lot older
Kev is 5 the Lt Colonel
very distinctive white hat - his trade mark check the nose and shape of
face
[ An attachment, image/jpeg: KevNov2005.jpg : actual size 8k : encoded size 10k, was included here ]
Interesting thing is looking at the history the battery was in
Charleston SC same time as the 5th Georgia 1863
and at Saltvile Virginia where the 5th Ga Cav ended up in 1864 so we
could have met! given my love of cannon - helping the artillery up Brush
mountain in the Kennesaw campaign June 1864
and watching the CSS Nashville get blown out the water I would have
talked to them about that.....
we could have known each other from previous
I've been friends with Gun shop Nic for 20 odd years
he runs Universal fireworks and a garage plus several other businesses -
real American ethos guy
intense as the photo shows
also other news got the job as Head of Science at Wellesley House school
Head offered it me this morning
knew I would get it when I realised that his name Richard R Steel ( R R
Steel) stood for Rail road steel!!!!!!!!!!! _ it's 1879 and Baillie is
working on the Central of Georgia railroad !)
so sign post from beyond - meant to be
all green lights
Your's confederately
Baillie :) permission to whooop!

Yes sir - will do!
we get the little grey fellows in our back garden.......
was a time when you popped 'em in a pie!
that's how come the minute men beat the British with them ther' squirrel
rifles
1776 and all that
it was cold here last week but warmed up a little now just damp and grey
plus rain today
typical Brit weather!!!!!!!!
we hate that too!!!!!!! :( :)
Harriet did an hour snow boarding a three ski instructing this morning
I did and hour skiing in the rain - good on the mat for the skis - fast!
- but got a bit wet
just put up the Christmas tree
Looked at my synchronicity timeline and the new job equates with Baillie
Kell moving to Americus to work on the railroad 1879 - bang on schedule!
Rome and Carrolton Railroad got taken over 1878 just like our merger
except we were doing the taking over this year......
so Baillie up sticks and went to work for the Central of Georgia
Railroad - meant living away and all
good times lasted until he was 60 just like this will - I think!???
feel's exciting - be my own boss again and the extra cash will mean we
can support Harriet through college and also come see y'all
my ace card this time though is I married Pauline (Sallie) so I won't
end up on my lonesome scratchin' in the dirt like Baillie last time
no sir - game plan is working through
Had to get married this time round all else follows
What ever happens Paul so long as you got each other - you're the
richest man alive
least way I think so
Love those kids - Christmas is all about them! We will be getting the
train set out - good excuse
like all those idyllic childhood Christmas' of yore
either the train set or the slot car track....
we've done that ever year since Harriet was little
now she's a string bean!
precious times they go so fast.........
Here's us three in France Easter
And here's what you should wear in the snow! :)
none of those sissy girlie warm clothes!!!!!!!!! :) :) :)
But real mans' stuff!
Yes ok! Its snowed 4" yesterday and 2-3 more overnight! I hate t hat
damn stuff!!

Ian BaillieUnlike my brother in Kilts in the snow, in December 1982 I used to ride

Still probably could but would need serious anti-freeze in them thar

No beard, no moustache, and no brains! But I had a lot of joy riding

No only a few customers on Saturday and we work around calls quite

Same here with the voice and face. But you sound more like a Southron

Yes it is on Sky satellite but won't don't have that - if we used
to...... but less time now to watch as Harriet is older
I used to be an avid fan of "Sighting" That's when I first saw Echoes of

started the ball rolling and things went from there
X Files the "Field" episode 1997 was a premonition of my own journey and
discovery 2 years later 1999

We really are brothers.........
cool way to go :)
CD's are great - can't tell you how much so - WORDS JUST AIN'T BIG
ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Instant time travel.........for me sitting round the campfire singing
songs was the best bit of the whole darn shootin match
that GD wood smoke........ and black powder takes me back there
instantly
we really were a band of brothers
native to the soil too!
Yes glad you can understand my Brit accent - a linguistic program on TV
show people living in the Chesapeake Bay area in splendid rural
isolation and they had West country accents!!!!!!!!!
nothing changed for 400 years - so your observation my dear fellow is as
sharp as ever!
I was described in letters as a "high toned gentleman"
shame I didn't have the cash to back that up - could have married Sallie
like snapping my fingers
like moths to the flame - fatal attraction - what is it with the men
women thing! sure as hell cain't live without it - not easy living with
it!!!!!! - shootin' Yankees was simple by comparison
present company excepted - beggin the General's pardon - no offence ;)
Yep - Sharps carbine then a 3 band Enfield did the talking
funny you like the 1851 Colt Navy .36 too.....
a Gentleman's weapon for personal defence
elegant made a wooden one when I was ( fired out the window using 1/2
amp fuse wire and the mains - black powder from a fire cracker) just
wanted to see it work!
The I got me the plastic model kit of one - that series aurora I think
definitely American - they made the horror movie models too like Dracula
and Frankenstein along with the six barrelled pepper pot pistol
even machined and filed the hammer for one in metal work aged 15
in the end I gave up as it was too big a job so used the hammer trigger
workings from a pirate flintlock cap pistol for my musket
worked a treat!
happy day no money no sense - ain't much changed there!
just inventiveness and a will of iron to manifest the past
then I joined the pistol club and it was the first pistol I bought in
1984
Uberti Westerners arms model .36 Colt Navy Octagonal barrel
still got it although I shoot my Colt Walker .44 most times - love the
bang - just like a broadside from a battleship - six shots too awesome
54 grains of black powder
the Colt Army .44 is an altogether more elegantly balanced weapon - a
true Cavalry pistol.....two of those and the reins in your teeth
come out of nowhere
hitt'em hard
and disappear
Bedford Forrest style
Beats walking slowly uphill against cannon any day.......
but like all things only the Infantry can take and hold ground
so it's all a lot of wind and piss!
Hats off to the PBI - the Poor Bloody Infantry
since time immemorial they have slogged the Earth the hard way
Just as I was General William Baillie in charge of the Scottish Infantry
1638 to 1648
I know the cost only too well........
seems to me that we really are the same - both chasing Sallie!
I was Infantry 1600's then Cavalry 1860's but didn't get the girl
you were probably Cavalry 1600's then Infantry 1860's and got the girl -
but lost her due to no darn overcoat - even worse!!!!!!
I know what it is like to lose too
Montrose kicked my butt more by luck than judgement - but he is recorded
as the great hero and Baillie the poor sap
Our victory at Marston Moor conveniently forgotten by the English who
chose to Lionise Cromwell instead...... - quite right too! I loved that
son of B......... Religious fanatic - sharing the fray with one and
all....
Just like Old Blue lights himself
probably why I identify with Jackson so strongly
could almost have been Cromwell himself - perhaps it was ??? Now there's
a thought!
Well time to saddle up
off to the Carol Service in Ashford Parish Church
kids and carols - don't get any more tear jerking than that!
Love it!
To the top of the hill Sir!!!!!!!!

Unlike my brother in Kilts in the snow, in December 1982 I used to ride
a snow-machine with sandals and shorts on up at camp on in mayfield NY.
Still probably could but would need serious anti-freeze in them thar
veins before departure into the wilds.

PS How are those CD"S??
[ A MIME image / jpeg part was included here. ]
No beard, no moustache, and no brains! But I had a lot of joy riding
around that way! Cave man instinct must have been.

forward to that and then POW! it's the weekend again
My Viking mind loves Winter........... the longships are all hauled up
and we sit around the fire toasting the spoils of the previous summer
campaign and telling stories of old - sagas and tales of daring do.....
wears my horn of ale!!!!!!!! Make and repair ring mail shield and sword
and frolic with the blonde haired lady folk
yep - don't get any better than that memory!!!!!!!!!

Baillie,
No only a few customers on Saturday and we work around calls quite
well together. Was a distinct honor and pleasure to speak with you!
Same here with the voice and face. But you sound more like a Southron
Virginian than an Englishman! The accent was prevalent still during
the 1800's because of the immigration to the Colonies. I have no
problem understanding that accent. Its bloody damn familiar somehow.
Here is the show which originates in the UK that we watch
